Design that leads to booking

UX/UI design for hotels

Overview + case studies
Made by MOMENTOFIMPACT
Hotel website UX/UI should combine emotional brand presentation with a clear, low-friction path to booking. Guests need to find the right room, understand terms, evaluate services and check availability without unnecessary effort. We design information architecture, user flows, wireframes, UI and scalable design systems around mobile-first behaviour, booking engine constraints and development requirements.

What it’s like to work with MOMENTOFIMPACT

For us, the process matters just as much as the final result — from clear communication and strategy to the final launch.

Why hotel websites lose guests before they reach booking

In hospitality, strong visuals cannot compensate for a difficult journey. If guests cannot compare rooms, find key information or move into booking with confidence, they often return to an OTA where the process feels familiar.

( 01 )

It is unclear where to start room selection

If the first screen does not make it clear where to explore rooms, check dates or start booking, guests have to find the route themselves. Good UX establishes the primary journeys and actions immediately.
( 02 )

Room categories are difficult to compare

Room category names rarely provide enough context on their own. The interface should make size, occupancy, views, beds, amenities, inclusions and rates easy to compare at a glance.
( 03 )

Key information is fragmented across too many pages

When policies, check-in details, breakfast, parking, spa access and other conditions are scattered across the site, uncertainty increases. UX should surface relevant context near the decision point instead of forcing guests to search for it.
( 04 )

Mobile booking creates unnecessary cognitive load

On mobile, long forms, intrusive modals, weak CTAs and heavy content create even more friction. Mobile-first design reduces cognitive load and keeps the most important booking actions within easy reach.
( 05 )

The booking engine transition breaks the experience

If the booking engine opens like a completely different product, guests may lose room context or question the transition. We design the handoff to preserve continuity, expectations and trust.
( 06 )

The interface does not resolve doubts before booking or payment

Before booking, guests verify cancellation terms, inclusions, taxes, payment details, imagery, reviews and service specifics. The interface should answer these questions at the right moment and remove reasons to postpone the decision.

What’s included

We start hotel UX/UI design with guest scenarios and information architecture. The goal is to create a clear journey from first impression to room selection and direct booking.

1. Hotel and user journey analysis

We study the property, audience, typical search and booking scenarios, room comparison, seasonal offers and guest expectations.

2. Information architecture

We define the site structure and relationships between homepage, rooms, services, spa, restaurant, offers, location, events, FAQ, contacts and SEO landing pages.

3. User flow design

We map critical flows including room selection, availability, booking engine transition, offers, gift vouchers, events and other conversion scenarios.

4. Wireframes and prototyping

We create wireframes for key pages and validate content hierarchy, CTAs and interactions before final design.

5. UX/UI design

We develop the visual interface around the hotel identity, UX logic and business goals, balancing hospitality storytelling with usability.

6. Responsive adaptation

We design desktop, tablet and mobile states, with special attention to mobile room search, CTAs and booking.

7. UI kit and design system

We create components, states, grids, typography and rules that ensure consistency and streamline development.

8. Development handoff

We prepare layouts, components, states, specifications and interaction logic for the development team.

9. Dispute resolution

We aim to resolve all work-related matters through open dialogue and mutual understanding. Where a dispute arises, it is handled through negotiation and, where necessary, in accordance with applicable Ukrainian law.

10. Payment for services

Payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers according to the agreed terms of cooperation. We do not store users’ payment details.
