Design should guide guests to action

UX/UI design for restaurants

Overview + case studies
Made by MOMENTOFIMPACT
Restaurant website UX/UI should combine brand atmosphere with a clear journey to the actions guests actually need: view the menu, find the location, reserve a table, order delivery or discover an event. We design information architecture, user flows, wireframes, UI and scalable design systems around mobile-first behaviour, local search and development requirements.
User research
We analyse restaurant choice behaviour, motivations, barriers and guest expectations.
User flows and information architecture
We map journeys to menu, reservations, ordering, locations and contact.
Wireframes and prototyping
We validate structure, CTAs and critical interactions before visual design.
UX/UI interface design
We create interfaces that express the brand while remaining clear and conversion-focused.
Responsive design
We design desktop, tablet and mobile journeys with particular attention to mobile discovery and booking.
UI kit and design system
We build reusable components and rules that improve consistency and development speed.

What it’s like to work with MOMENTOFIMPACT

For us, the process matters just as much as the final result — from clear communication and strategy to the final launch.

Why restaurant websites lose guests before reservation

Restaurant visitors often arrive with a clear intent and limited time. If menu, address, reservation or key information is not immediately available, they move to a competitor or return to Google Maps.

( 01 )

It is unclear where to find the menu

The menu should be reachable within seconds from any key page. Complex navigation or PDF-only menus add cognitive load and weaken mobile usability.
( 02 )

The reservation CTA gets lost

A reservation button should appear where intent is created. If users have to search in the navigation or footer, more of them leave before taking action.
( 03 )

Locations and formats are mixed together

Restaurant groups need clear separation of addresses, hours, menus, contact details and local specifics.
( 04 )

The mobile-first journey is not designed

Restaurant search often happens on the move. Heavy imagery, slow pages, difficult menus and long forms are especially damaging on mobile.
( 05 )

Key decisions are not supported by content

Before booking, guests may need menu, atmosphere, pricing, dress code, parking or other details. UX should resolve these questions before the CTA.
( 06 )

The interface does not support different goals

One guest wants a table, another wants delivery, catering or an event. Good architecture separates these journeys without making the interface feel complicated.

What’s included

Restaurant UX/UI design starts with understanding how guests interact with the website, how the menu is structured, and how the restaurant’s key business processes work. We design interfaces that make it easy to explore the menu, reserve a table, place a delivery order, or find essential information, while providing a smooth experience across all devices.

1. Restaurant and user journey analysis

We study the format, audience, typical search and reservation scenarios, delivery, menus, locations, events and other business needs.

2. Information architecture

We define the site structure and relationships between homepage, menu, locations, about, reservations, delivery, events, private dining, catering, FAQ and contacts.

3. User flow design

We map critical flows for viewing the menu, making a reservation, ordering, choosing a location, finding events and other scenarios.

4. Wireframes and prototyping

We create wireframes for key pages and validate content hierarchy, CTAs and interactions before final design.

5. UX/UI design

We develop the interface around the restaurant identity, UX logic and business goals.

6. Responsive adaptation

We design desktop, tablet and mobile states with emphasis on mobile menus, location, CTAs and reservations.

7. UI kit and design system

We create components, states, grids, typography and rules that ensure consistency and streamline development.

8. Development handoff

We prepare layouts, components, states, specifications and interaction logic for the development team.

9. Dispute resolution

We aim to resolve work-related matters through open dialogue and negotiation and, where necessary, in accordance with applicable Ukrainian law.

10. Payment for services

Payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers according to the agreed terms.
